چکیده
Moisture damage of asphalt mixtures is a major distress affecting the durability pavements. The loaded wheel tracking (LWT) test gaining popularity in determining moisture because its ability to relate laboratory performance field performance. However, accuracy LWT’s “pass/fail” criteria for screening limited. objective this study was evaluate capability LWT identify susceptibility with different conditioning protocols. Seven 12.5 mm two binder types (unmodified PG 67-22 and modified 70-22), three aggregate (limestone, crushed gravel, semi-crushed gravel) were utilized. Asphalt mixture samples subjected five levels, namely, control; single freeze–thaw-; triple MiST 3500 cycles; 7000 cycles. Frequency sweep at multiple temperatures frequencies, stress creep recovery tests performed binders. used samples. Freeze–thaw resulted an increase stiffness binders as compared control. Further, freeze–thaw rut depth control mixture. protocols evaluated effective exposing moisture-sensitive mixtures, which initially showed compliance Louisiana design specifications.

Evaluating the Effect of Lucobit on Moisture Susceptibility and Mechanical Performance of Bitumen and Asphalt Mixtures
The use of polymer in hot mix asphalt production has remarkably in recent decades. Destruction due to moisture in hot mix asphalt is of basic matters about flexible pavement durability. In recent decades different ways have been used to evaluate moisture Sensitivity of HMA which some of them are simple with low cost and some are complicated with more reliable results. In this research the effec...
متن کاملAssessing rutting susceptibility of five different modified asphalts in bituminous mixtures using rheology and wheel tracking test
Rutting is one of the most important distresses in asphalt pavements due to its frequency. Rutting or channeling, could be classified in three types: 1) mechanical deformation (rutting in subgrade or base), 2) plastic flow (unstable asphalt layer), and 3) wheel path consolidation. The plastic flow of bituminous mixture depends on many factors; one of this is the type of asphalt used in the mixt...
متن کاملEffects of Compactor Types on Aggregate Orientation of Asphalt Mixtures
More than 90% of Malaysian roads are constructed using asphaltic concrete. However, previous investigations of asphaltic concrete have mainly concentrated on the macroscopic properties of the composite materials based on the assumption that the mixtures are homogeneous and isotropic. This paper applies a digital image processing technique to compare the orientations of coarse aggregate particle...
متن کاملIdentification Effect of Nanoclay on Engineering Properties of Asphalt Mixtures
Nanoclays are new generation of processed clays of interest in a wide range of high performance composites. In other words, nanoclay is defined as a clay that can be modified to make the clay complexes compatible with organic monomers and polymers. Here, it can be said that the polymeric nanocomposites are among the most exciting and promising classes of materials discovered recently. A number ...

This paper presents the effects of different amounts of reclaimed asphalt on fatigue life of asphalt mixtures. Central composite method was used to design of experiments based on response surface method (RSM). Binder type (Pen 60/70 and Pen 85/100), reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) content (25, 50 and 75%) and loading strain (150, 250 and 350 micro strain) were selected as independent variables...
